Sports flooring is a critical element that directly affects both the quality of the sporting activity and the health of the athlete. Correctly designed floor coating systems increase athletes' performance while reducing the risk of injury to a minimum.
Sports floors play an important part in the interaction between the floor and the shoe in terms of athlete health. Choosing the wrong floor can cause injuries to muscles, tendons, ligaments, bones and cartilage. In addition, high frictional resistance in the playing surface can increase the risk of injury, particularly to joints and ligaments. For this reason the coefficient of friction of a sports floor must be designed specifically for athletes' agility and reaction times.
Soft sports floors protect against chronic use problems while also offering an effective solution for preventing acute injuries caused by falls.
By bringing together quality and expertise in sports flooring solutions, Likit İzolasyon provides floors that both support athletes' health and deliver superior performance. Discover our durable and healthy solutions for professional sports facilities.
These are systems in which a polyurethane coating is applied over an elastic base layer. The shock absorption, ball rebound and friction values directly affect the joint health of the athlete. The thickness and the structure of the elastic base are designed according to the target performance class.
These are systems in which SBR or EPDM granules are bound together with a polyurethane binder. Because they provide high shock absorption, they are preferred in playgrounds, running tracks and fitness areas.
These are acrylic systems applied over concrete or asphalt. Shock absorption is low, but durability and ease of maintenance are high; they are common on outdoor courts.
In jump-intensive sports such as basketball and volleyball, the balance between shock absorption and ball rebound comes to the fore; polyurethane sports floors are suitable. In fitness and free-weight areas, where impact absorption is the priority, thick rubber granule systems are preferred.
The lines are distinguished by colour coding. The lines of the main sport are applied in the most prominent colour and the others in paler tones. The choice of colours is decided at the planning stage in order to avoid confusion during play.
Because dust and sand abrade the surface like sandpaper, regular sweeping and damp cleaning are the most important maintenance. Cleaners with a suitable pH should be used and harsh chemicals avoided. Stiletto heels and the dragging of heavy equipment should be prevented.
If the parquet is sound and not hollow-sounding, a synthetic system can be applied over it with a suitable primer. However, if there is movement or moisture between the parquet and the substrate, these problems must be dealt with first; otherwise the new covering will deform within a short time.
